Fabrication<br />
Fabrication can be defined as the context <strong>of</strong> a violation <strong>of</strong> academic integrity, as the forgery or<br />
falsification <strong>of</strong> information for an academic exercise. Some examples <strong>of</strong> fabrication are as follows:<br />
1. Indicating a laboratory experiment has been done when it has not, thus leading to an invented or<br />
uncorroborated conclusion<br />
2. Altering an original source document, misquoting or misrepresenting a source to support a point<br />
<strong>of</strong> view or hypotheses<br />
3. Changing and resubmitting academic work returned by an instructor, such as an examination,<br />
research paper or other types <strong>of</strong> assignments without first notifying the instructor<br />
Plagiarism<br />
Plagiarism is defined as the stealing and passing <strong>of</strong>f as one’s own words or ideas, the ideas <strong>of</strong><br />
another without including an appropriate citation.<br />
Standards <strong>of</strong> Behavior<br />
Students in the radiography program have responsibility for their behavior while in the classroom and<br />
clinical environment. Didactic and clinical instructors will periodically evaluate students’ classroom<br />
behavior. The standards <strong>of</strong> behavior for a student radiographer are:<br />
I will demonstrate concern for human dignity for my fellow classmates and the instructors by:<br />
• Treating classmates, as I would like to be treated<br />
• Treating the instructor, as I would like to be treated<br />
• Honoring each other’s differences as individuals<br />
• Exercising teamwork<br />
• Refraining from swearing or using rude gestures<br />
• Respecting others during testing<br />
• Turning in course work on time<br />
I will show empathy for others by:<br />
• Making eye contact when communicating with others<br />
• Speaking clearly<br />
• Being courteous in verbal, non-verbal, and written communication<br />
• Answering and transferring telephone calls in a pr<strong>of</strong>essional manner<br />
• Keeping the classroom areas tidy<br />
• Minimal tardiness at beginning <strong>of</strong> the day and after lunch<br />
• Not sleeping during class<br />
I will demonstrate honesty, trust and confidentiality in dealing with others by:<br />
• Protecting the privacy and confidentiality <strong>of</strong> others<br />
• Listening to others’ questions, concerns, and thoughts without interrupting<br />
