<strong>NICC</strong> ND 1436 V1.1.2 (2013-09)<br />

Access Node Operator (ANO) : The provider of the network access communications equipment<br />

including head-end equipment such as DSLAMs and MSANs.<br />

CPE <strong>Modem</strong> Provider : The provider of the CPE modem to the end-user to enable connection to<br />

the “wires–only” <strong>VDSL2</strong> service.<br />

End-User : The end customer being served by the “wires-only” service.<br />

MPF provider : The provider responsible for the provision and maintenance of the access cable<br />

and related cable infrastructure.<br />

Self-install : Refers to an install process where equipment is delivered to and installed by the end<br />

user to enable their service without a CPE modem provider or Access Node Operator fitting the<br />

equipment.<br />

Wires-only : Refers to an install process where the Access Node Operator doesn’t supply, fit or<br />

configure equipment at the end user premise. This is carried out by the CPE modem provider or<br />

end user.<br />
