Find my bin collection day
Melton Shire Council has developed a tool to make it easy for residents
to find out the days of their rubbish, recycling and green waste bin
collections.
The “Find My Bin Collection Dayʼ tool asks residents to enter their
street address to identify which day of the week their bins are
collected. The tool can be found on the rubbish/recycling page and
new residentsʼ page of Councilʼs website.
Melton Shire Council Mayor, Cr Justin Mammarella JP, said the tool
was accessible to residents and simple to use.
“Council is committed to improving services for residents and ensuring
important information is readily available.
“Each week, 154 people move into our Shire and itʼs the little things like
knowing when your rubbish and recycling gets collected that makes
moving to a new area easier.
Garbage bins are collected every week in all collection areas of Melton
Shire. Recycling and green waste bins are collected alternating weeks.
Residents must ensure their bins are out on the kerbside by 6am on
the bin collection day.

ʻImagineʼ how fantastic the 2011
Djerriwarrh Festival will be!
Rock sensation James Reyne will headline a
fabulous day of fun and entertainment at the 2011
Djerriwarrh Festival.
Held on Saturday 5 November at the Melton
Recreation Reserve, the 2011 festival theme is
'imagine'.
Melton Shire Council Mayor, Cr Justin Mammarella
JP, said 2011 would be a big year for the
Djerriwarrh Festival.
“Every year the Djerriwarrh Festival gets better and
better, now in its 32nd year, it truly is a showcase
of our diverse community, celebrating all the things
that make the Shire of Melton great,” Cr
Mammarella said.
All the most popular Festival features are back in
2011, including the street parade, market stalls,
Get Active Expo, Lions Club carnival, Young@Art
show, activities and workshops for all ages along
with the spectacular fireworks display.
New to the Djerriwarrh Festival in 2011 is the
Business EXPOsed small business expo,
showcasing a range of local businesses.
The voice of a generation, James Reyne will
headline the event, singing hits from his Australian
Crawl and solo career.
The soulful Josh Owen will keep the crowd
entertained in the evening, while the kids will love
the Kazoos. The main stage will also feature the
amazing beats of Asiko, a drumming and dancing
celebration of music.

Entertainment starts on the Main Stage at
12.15pm and the Festival concludes at 9.15pm
with the traditional fireworks display.
Performances will also take place on the
Community Stage from 12pm until 4pm, featuring
local groups, along with demonstrations from
sporting and recreation clubs on the main oval.
