Agency/Entity
(check all that apply)
Indian Tribes/Tribal Organizations
(required)
N/A: No such entities exist within
the boundaries of the State
Describe how the
Lead Agency will
coordinate with this
Agency/entity in
delivering child
care and early
childhood services
Tribal representatives
have been included in
all Task Forces
established by the
CYFD to establish the
Early Learning
Guidelines and now in
the revision of the
QRIS system.
CYFD is working
closely with the three
tribal entities that have
been granted funds
through ACF for the
establishment of home
visiting programs.
Remind the tribes that
they are welcome to
participate in the QRIS
if they are licensed and
take advantage of
training and technical
assistance that the
state has to offer.
Describe results
expected from the
coordination
Examples might include
increased supply of fullday/full-year
services,
aligned eligibility policies,
blended funding, or access
to more training and
technical assistance
resources shared across
agencies.
Ensure that tribal
representatives have input
on changes to the ELGs
and the QRIS system.
This collaboration is an
attempt to establish and
align the early childhood
care and education “system
of systems” so that children
and families have access to
a seamless continuum of
services pre-natal through
third grade.
Encouraging open lines of
communication between
the State and the tribes.
CYFD is currently
having quarterly
meetings with the
Navajo Nation CCDF
Compliance Officer to
discuss child care
centers located in the
Navajo Nation who are
receiving State CCDF
funds.
Maintaining communication
with Navajo Nation and
ensures that CCDF funds
do not overlap.
For the remaining agencies, check and describe (optional) any with which the Lead
Agency has chosen to coordinate early childhood and school-age service delivery
CCDF Plan Effective Date: October 1, 2013
