Induction and Training Policy Statement:
Coolum Beach Christian College accepts it has a legal and moral obligation to all staff
to ensure the risks in the workplace are reduced to as low a level as possible.
To fulfil this obligation, it is committed to ensuring all staff are fully aware and
understand their responsibilities, the risk management program and health and safety
policies and procedures related to their work, the plant and the work environment.
All staff will attend an induction session at the beginning of the year before Term 1
starts. All staff will be informed on where to access the schools digital copy of the
Workplace Health and Safety Policies and Procedures Manual, filed on the CBCC
network in Teachers drive, in a folder called SAFE. The signed form at the back will
be retained on the employee’s personnel record after they have been made fully
aware of their responsibilities, the general safety rules, the correct use of equipment
and the correct procedures related to their work.
Further on-the-job training will continue after this induction session to ensure the
employee is able to perform the work competently and in a manner that reduces the
risks associated with each task.
Regular ongoing training will be given to each staff to maintain quality of service and
performance and at the following times:
- when introducing new equipment
- after prolonged absence from specific tasks
- at regular intervals to reinforce quality of service and performance
- after repeated non-compliance with any rules or procedures related to
health and safety
