<strong>The</strong> 2012 America’s<br />
Grape Country Wine<br />
Festival is scheduled for<br />
Saturday, Aug. 11 and<br />
Sunday, Aug. 12 from noon<br />
to 7 p.m. at the Chautauqua<br />
County Fairgrounds.<br />
Spend the weekend tasting<br />
wines from dozens of<br />
New York state wineries!<br />
Live music, educational<br />
seminars and local crafters<br />
and artisans will be featured<br />
all weekend at the<br />
festival. Watch for updated<br />

the announcement of this<br />

Loyal Order of Moose Lodge cares<br />
about children, seniors, our community<br />
<strong>The</strong> Loyal Order of<br />
Moose Lodge #89, located<br />
at 296 Lake Shore Drive<br />
West in Dunkirk is a beautiful<br />
facility in the heart of<br />
our community. <strong>The</strong><br />
organization itself has<br />
been in existence for 102<br />
years and is completely<br />
driven toward the benefit<br />
of three entities. <strong>The</strong> first<br />
is the Mooseheart, located<br />
west of Chicago. <strong>The</strong>ir #1<br />
priority is the care of children<br />
who may be less fortunate.<br />
<strong>The</strong> second would<br />
be Moosehaven, the City of<br />
Contentment, in<br />
Jacksonville, Fla., which<br />
focuses on care for the<br />
Senior members of the<br />
Moose. Last but not least,<br />
the Moose’s surrounding<br />
community is also of top<br />
priority.<br />
This philosophy is born<br />
out of a saying by James J.<br />
Davis, Director General.<br />
He said that only the<br />
church and the school have<br />
the right to exist. All others<br />
should have to prove<br />
their right. Moose members<br />
prove their worth by<br />
being in support of<br />
Mooseheart, Moosehaven<br />
and the community in<br />
which they live. And they<br />
take pride in doing so<br />
every day.<br />
Since community service<br />
events are a top priority,<br />
one way that Moose<br />
helps is by offering their<br />
facilities to many non-profit<br />
organizations throughout<br />
the year. In this way,<br />
100 percent of the net profits<br />
can be donated toward<br />
the purpose of the event.<br />
<strong>The</strong> extensive Phoenix<br />
Room holds over 300 people<br />
and the fully-staffed<br />
and stocked kitchen is prepared<br />
to cater any function<br />
including Monte Carlo<br />
nights and spaghetti dinners.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Moose Lodge and<br />
its facilities are also open<br />
to private special occasions,<br />
such as wedding<br />
receptions, showers, parties<br />
and much more! <strong>The</strong><br />
lodge offers the finest food<br />
and expertly trained staff<br />
