Townsend Youth Centre is celebrating their 5 th Birthday since opening. The Centre is keen to
celebrate their positive influence on young people and their goal of enriching youth’s lives.
Celebrate their success and help raise awareness of this fantastic scheme by attending their
event from 2:00pm to 6:00pm
12 Jun 2010 Saturday Morning in the Museum
Want to know more about the world around you? Visit the Bournemouth Natural Science
Society museum, 39 Christchurch Road, on our Saturday open mornings from 10.30am –
12.30pm. The museum is based on collections made over the last century by members of
the Society. It includes natural history specimens, finds from archaeological digs in and
around the Bournemouth area and one of the best displays of local geology. Throughout
the summer we will be opening on some Saturday mornings with special hands-on activities
for all ages.
On Saturday 12 th June, learn all about the Ancient Egyptians. Our museum includes a room
dedicated to artifacts from this fascinating civilization. The centerpiece of the collection is
our mummy, Tahemaa, who has recently been scanned using the latest techniques. Come
and find out what we have learned about her life and death.

The Asian Women’s Association, Saaz Aur Awaaz celebrates Bournemouth’s Bicentenary
from 10am – 6pm at King Parks.
The fantastic programme includes live music performances, refreshments, fashion, a
selection of children’s’ activities, jewelry, clothes and much more. Admission is priced at
£4 per adult and £10 per family of four (with two children under five). Children over six
years can enter for just £2.
