18 Jul 2010 Muscliff Fun Day 2010 On the 18 July make sure you’re at the Shack Youth Club’s Muscliff Fun Day! The event was first created in 2008 and was designed to deliver a community day to the residents of Bournemouth. This year’s event will see a number of stalls and activities, such as a raffle, dog show and funfair. It will also explore the historic side of Throop, Muscliff, Stourvale and Holdenhurst, with guided walks promoting the history of the areas. The event will begin at 11am and run til 4pm and will be held at Muscliff Park, Shillingstone Drive, Bournemouth. Cocktails and canapés on the Terrace with music are being served at 6pm, then at 7pm dinner will be held on the New Sea View Restaurant Deck. Music throughout the evening will be provided by Bournemouth’s Champion Class Brass Band - Bournemouth Concert Brass with an entertaining repertoire of modern classics and traditional British favourites. Tickets are priced at £35 per person. For more information and to book a table please contact the Miramar Hotel on 01202 556581 23 Jul 2010 Boscombe Art Trail On the 23 July four of the seven innovative sculptures are being installed on Sea Road to form Boscombe’s first art tail. The remaining three are set to be installed by 30 September 2010. The designs created by Dorset artist Andy Kirkby and chosen by a panel of arts professionals, local people and ward councillor Lisa Northover, reflect the ideas put forward by local residents of Sea Road and the Undercliff Road, and the artists’ own distinctive approach to public art. 24 Jul 2010 The Old Time Garden Party The Old Time Garden Party is taking place at the Avon Cliff Nursing and Residential Home on Christchurch Road between 11am – 4pm. The former Mayor of Bournemouth, Douglas Eyre, will be attending the event and there is set to be a performance from the Olde Tyme Players Theatre Company, as well as craft stalls and garden games. All money raised from this event will contribute to other annual events running throughout the year and will be given to this year’s chosen local charity, Woof Ability. This charity specialises in providing dogs as helpful aids to those with disabilities. There will be a formal presentation by the Borough Council of Freedom Rights to The Rifles and this will be followed by a Freedom March by soldiers from the Regiment. 25 Jul 2010 Sunday Best Music Fest Sunday Best Music Fest is being held at Fernheath playing field from 11am – 7pm and is a free event open to all. Live acts, such as Tobbacco Road, have been confirmed as well as local choirs and dance schools. Children’s entertainment will be provided on the day and local stalls will also be up and running. This event is aimed at the community and encourages local businesses’ involvement.
