Royal Technology mission<br />
ivA's 90th <strong>Annual</strong> meeting<br />
this years annual meeting was attended by almost 900 guests.<br />
In Stockholm Concert Hall His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf<br />
presented <strong>IVA</strong>'s Gold Medals. Hydro power pioneers Fredrik<br />
Vilhelm Hansen and Johan Gustaf Richert were remembered in<br />
the <strong>2009</strong> commemorative booklet and in a speech by Lennart<br />
Billfalk, Chairman of Division II, Electrical Engineering.<br />
<strong>IVA</strong>'s President Björn O. Nilsson delivered the annual speech<br />
in honour of the occasion on progress in research and<br />
technology. The theme of the speech was environment &<br />
climate – a theme that is always topical and engages people.<br />
In his speech the <strong>IVA</strong> President highlighted the positive and<br />
intensive work that is under way to find solutions to the<br />
problems we face.<br />
Chairman Lena Treschow Torell presented the results of the<br />
Academy's project activities and also recognised the members<br />
who had passed away during the year. The meeting in the<br />
Concert Hall was followed by a banquet, entertainment and<br />
dancing in Stockholm City Hall.<br />
