What we said we would do during 2009/10<br />

63 Introduce a pilot scheme for funded treatment to<br />

reduce staff absence due to waiting time for operations<br />

64 Introduce alcohol and drugs testing to improve staff and<br />

public safety and reduce absenteeism<br />

65 Implement a comprehensive staff management strategy<br />

for developing the high potential and ability of our<br />

workforce, including development of our successful<br />

graduate entry scheme and targeted development<br />

programmes<br />

66 Develop new reward proposals for salary progression<br />

linked to performance and implement the first stage for<br />

the Top Management Group<br />

67 Implement new working patterns for our operational<br />

station based staff<br />

68 Implement a revised car scheme based on reducing<br />

carbon emissions<br />

69 Implement our e-hr strategy delivering increasing HR<br />

services on line<br />

What we have done so far<br />

Facility for funded treatment introduced. Report back on its operation due in June <strong>2010</strong>.<br />

Collective agreement now reached with FBU on Routine Periodical Medical (RPM), for cause, and random<br />

testing; all to be implemented from 1 October onwards.<br />

<strong>Plan</strong> for Strategic Manager Targeted Development Programme (TDP) to be put forward by end of March<br />

<strong>2010</strong>.<br />

359 applications received for Graduate entry, 40% of which are from under-represented groups.<br />

14 appointments made for targeted development, 6 (43%) of which are from under-represented groups.<br />

The Pay Strategy is due to go to the Authority on 19 November 2009.<br />

Revised car scheme agreed at Authority. Consultation now taking place with representative bodies.<br />

Good progress being made.<br />
