Heavy Equipment Operator - Industry Training Authority

Note:
Although the theory for the Grader remains within the Heavy Equipment Operator course the practical
component is an option.
Industry has recommended that persons receiving practical instruction on the grader for the first time
should be able to demonstrate the following competencies by the end of a two day training session.
1. The learner should be able to demonstrate the following practical skills:
Demonstrate the safe operation of equipment including visual checks, constant awareness of
space, position, clearance and safe movement of machine.
Perform pre-start checks, start-up/shutdown procedures and monitor performance of the
equipment.
Perform daily maintenance tasks.
