Making Visible the Judgments We Use in Assessing Students’ Short Stories<br />

This workshop for English Teachers of Leaving Certificate English looked at how to:<br />

Provide a workshop for teachers of English using real examples of students’ writing<br />

Explore the different perspectives involved in assessing a piece of work - the reader’s<br />

perspective, the teacher’s perspective and the examiner’s perspective<br />

Encourage teachers to consider how best to support the writer-in-waiting<br />

Create a community of shared practice, shared values and shared meanings<br />
