Professor Jeanine Young, appointed Professor of Nursing, University of the Sunshine Coast (to commence August 2013), will continue the support of currently funded projects during 2013 for which she is chief or co-investigator. These projects include two NH&MRC funded trials in collaboration with the Centre for Health Practice Innovation, Griffith University, where she holds an appointment as an Adjunct Professor. The trial of the safe sleep enabler to reduce the risk of sudden unexpected deaths in infancy in high risk environments in self selected Indigenous communities, is supported by Professor Young’s role as Chair of the SIDS and Kids National Scientific Advisory Group and Member, International Society for the Study and Prevention of Infant Death and her supervision of Leanne Craigie, Project Officer as RHD supervisor. Lorelle Malyon will continue to support the completion of the SAD PIVD study in her role as Nurse Educator – DEM.
