Section 4 • Generator Assemblies<br />
• Install all the stator bolts by hand and only torque them<br />
to “finger tight.”<br />
• Then tighten them (Figure 4.34) to the specified torque<br />
as outlined in the torque chart in the appendix of this<br />
guide.<br />
Assembling The Wiring Harness<br />
• Install the protective mesh over the power wires as<br />
shown in Figure 4.36.<br />

• Remove the spark plug from the cylinder head.<br />
IMPORTANT: Before proceeding to any other<br />
step, check to make sure that no internal<br />
obstructions are present. Pull the motor/generator<br />
assembly through (Figure 4.35) several revolutions to<br />
ensure that nothing is internally bound, grating or<br />
rubbing.<br />

NOTE: Refer to the specific wiring schematic that<br />
applies to the unit you are working on, before<br />
proceeding with the following steps.<br />
• Push the appropriate “spade terminals” into their<br />
designated compartments on the connector plug as<br />
shown in Figure 4.37.<br />
