Akademii v ateliéru Miloslava Jágra a patří mezi zkušené
ilustrátorky pohádek a oceňované filmové výtvarnice.
Doménou jejího usměvavého rukopisu jsou výpravné pohádkové
soubory, z nichž v poslední době vynikl výtvarný
doprovod k antologiím Kocour v botách (1996) a Babiččina kniha
Osmnáct převyprávění světových pohádkových
látek spojuje tematika hor a horalů, kteří
vnich zažívají kouzelné příběhy. Zkušená autorka
jazykově a stylově sloučila mnohdy protichůdné
poetiky lidových vyprávění, vtiskla jim jednotný
ráz, ovšem zároveň zachovala situační
pestrost a výrazové bohatství tak, že se kultivovaný
jazyk snoubí s tradičně klidným vyprávěcím
tempem.
Eva Sýkorová-Pekárková (1958) graduated from the
Prague Academy, Miloslav Jágr’s studio, and counts among
experienced fairy-tale illustrators and acclaimed animated
film designers. Her relaxed style seems to be best suited to richly
illustrated fairy-tale sets, a fact confirmed by the relatively
recent anthologies Puss in Boots (1996) and Grandma’s
Story Book (2001). Her last contribution to the field of
film animation is her original series Matilda the Duck.
Eighteen renditions of fairy tales from around
the world have one thing in common – mountains,
mountain folks, and the magical stories they share.
The experienced author has lent the often antagonistic
style of the various folk stories a single language
and character, while at the same time preserving
the diversity of the various situations and
richness of the overall expression, combining cultivated
language with the traditionally relaxed narrative
tempo.
