Kongresni turizam i općenito poslovno uvjetovana<br />
putovanja, prema službenim podacima Svjetske<br />
turističke organizacije za 2009. godinu, čine 15<br />
posto svih svjetskih međunarodnih dolazaka, a po<br />
financijskom učinku premašuju tu brojku. Značaj<br />
kongresne turističke industrije je tim veći kada se u<br />
obzir uzme činjenica da se radi o putovanjima mahom<br />
vezanima za periode niske sezone leisure putovanja,<br />
što znači da su ona ključna za cjelogodišnje turističko<br />
poslovanje. Upravo stoga, <strong>Maistra</strong> u svojoj poslovnoj<br />
strategiji razvoju MICE turizma (Meetings, Incentives,<br />
Conferences, Events - skraćenica koja u turističkoj<br />
industriji obuhvaća kongrese i poslovna putovanja)<br />
daje iznimno velik značaj. Potvrđuje se to i intenzivnim<br />
investicijama u razvoj vrhunskih hotelskih kapaciteta<br />
te snažnim prodajnim i marketinškim aktivnostima<br />
usmjerenima na taj tržišni segment.<br />
Ulaganja<br />
Intenzivno ulaganje u marketinške i prodajne<br />
aktivnosti u segmentu MICE turizma podrazumijeva<br />
kontinuirane nastupe na specijaliziranim radionicama<br />
i sajmovima u svijetu, suradnju s međunarodnim<br />
konzorcijima i organizacijama (Naseba, GHOTW),<br />
oglašavanje u vodećim svjetskim direktorijima MICE<br />
ponude te akvizicijske posjete i prezentacije u zemlji i<br />
inozemstvu.<br />
Zbog važnosti kojeg MICE segment zauzima u<br />
cjelokupnom Maistrinom turističkom portfelju, velik<br />
dio investicijskih sredstava usmjeren je upravo na<br />
razvoj vrhunskih hotela i komplementarnih sadržaja i<br />
to posebice onih koji su izravno i posredno vezani za<br />
MICE segment. Upravo zbog toga, <strong>Maistra</strong> je zadnjih<br />
godina preuzela ulogu vodećeg investitora u hrvatskom<br />
turizmu s 1,7 milijarda kuna investicija realiziranih do<br />

15 percent of the world’s international arrivals in 2009,<br />
and their financial performance exceeds this figure.<br />
The importance of the conference tourism industry<br />
is even bigger when we take into account the fact<br />
that these trips are mostly related to periods of low<br />
season leisure trips, which means they are essential<br />
for year-round tourist business. That is why <strong>Maistra</strong><br />
gives extreme importance to MICE tourism (Meetings,<br />
Incentives, Conferences, Events - an acronym that<br />
covers conferences and business trips in the travel<br />
industry) in its business development strategy. This<br />
is also confirmed by intensive investment in the<br />
development of top quality hotel facilities and strong<br />
sales and marketing activities aimed at this market<br />
segment.<br />
Investments<br />
Intensive investment in marketing and sales activities<br />
in the MICE tourism segment includes continuous<br />
performances in specialized workshops and exhibitions<br />
around the world, cooperation with international<br />
organizations and consortia (Naseba, GHOTW),<br />
advertising in leading international directories of the<br />
MICE offer, as well as acquisition-related visits and<br />
presentations at home and abroad.<br />
Due to the importance of the MICE segment in<br />
the entire <strong>Maistra</strong> tourism portfolio, a large part<br />
of investment funds is focused precisely on the<br />
development of top hotels and complementary<br />
facilities, particularly those which are directly and<br />
indirectly related to the MICE segment. Consequently,<br />
last year <strong>Maistra</strong> assumed the role of the lead investor<br />
in Croatian tourism with 1.7 billion kunas investment<br />
