The thoughts and ideas of the archaeology professor started a process, which slowly resulted in the opportunity to exhibit the finds of local excavations and display the area of the military fort. The Town Municipality of Paks founded the Town Museum in 1993 and opened the institution in 1994. The museum is located in a 19th century renovated manor house, where the excavated finds from Lussonium can be displayed, along with the episodes of local history. The permanent exhibition was opened in 1995, where the Roman fort’s most notable finds were displayed. A part of the permanent exhibition that opened in 1995. This particular room presents the Roman Age. The new museum also put emphasis on the populsarisation of Roman culture and the history of Pannonia. As a result, historic competitions, lectures were held and, most importantly, the very successful summer camps were started.
