excavations were regularly supported by the Ministry of National Heritage, the
National Cultural Fund and the Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. The option of a
reconstruction has arisen before, however, financial conditions were unfavourable of
the project. At present, development plans can be achieved with the support of the
European Union and the contribution of the Town Museum of Paks, the Town
Municipality of Paks and the Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd.
The construction of a protective building and further improvements of the area will
provide suitable conditions for the protection of the ruins, the reception of visitors and
guest. Moreover, information signs with high quality content contribute to a better
understanding of the monument for tourists. The new, fitting marketing strategy will
devote more attention to Lussonium and wishes to make the site a part of a touristic
package that also includes neighbouring touristic attractions, thus offering several
days’ entertainment. As a result, Lussonium would become a fine example of the
cultural missionary role which conservated ruins play and would also indicate that the
time has come for us to make efforts in order to preserve the values of the past.
