New Club Program Manual!
USPSA just released a revision to
the Club Program Manual, last updated
by John Wells in 1993.
The new version brings the CPM
up to scratch on policy, and adds considerable
new material, including a
"new shooter orientation" handout
for new shooters.
All affiliated clubs will receive a
fresh copy to go inside their existing
binder. Clubs can purchase additional
copies for $30 from the home office.
cently, he has also written some awesome
shotgun articles for the Front
Sight. Pat wants to help juniors as he
too knows they are our future! Thanks,
Pat!
NEW INDUSTRY JUNIOR SUP-
PORTERS
As I have stated above, our shooting
industry- is really in support of our
Junior Program. Below are some new
supporters helping our juniors fill their
needs for reloading components.
STARLINE BRASS
Lee at Starline Brass is shipping 500
pieces of Starline Brass to juniors who
have a need for brass. Their website is
www.starlinebrass.com . E-mail me at
juniors@ tispsa.org for details.
MONTANA GOLD BULLETS
Norm and Jolene, owners of Montana
Gold bullets, are shipping bullets
to needy juniors who make their requests
known to me. These are designated
for juniors whose parents are not
financially able to afford these bullets
otherwise. Their website is www.montanagoldbullers.com
. Contact me at juniors@
uspsa.org for details on how to
qualify for these bullets.
RAMSHOT GUNPOWDERS
Brenda Kneeland ot Western Powders,
Inc., of Miles City, Mont., has donated
both True Blue and Silhouette
pistol powders to the Junior Program.
Their website is www.ramshot.com .
Please contact me on how to get some
of these free gunpowders at juniors@
uspsa. org
VIHTAVUORI OY
Jeanie Bolda of Kaltron has donated
some of VV's newest 3N38 to
the Junior Program. See
www.kaltron.com and scroll to VV
powders. Again, contact me at juniors@
uspsa.org on how to acquire
some of this new VV gunpowder.
SPECIAL CLUB FUNDRAISERS
Area 8 Director George Jones ran a
special junior benefit match and is the
first club to report to rne this year that
they have raised funds ($100) for the
2002 Junior Program. George and his
club (Riverdale Practical Shooters Club
in New Jersey) have my sincerest
thanks and appreciation for all your efforts
to benefit the Junior Program.
1 challenge all the USPSA clubs out
there to run a Junior Program benefit
"fun match" this year. Last year, the
folks in Nevada ran a match and if you
didn't like your score you could have a
"mulligan" stage for an additional $5
fee that would also go to benefiting the
juniors. Make your match a fun match
with the goal of benefiting juniors over
winning a trophy or prize.
JUNIOR BENEFIT SHOOTING
CLASSES
Max Michel Jr. ran a series of short
classes for juniors on May 25th & 26th
in Roberta, Ga., at the Cool Springs
Gun Club. His classes in Area 6 will really
benefit the junior shooters in that
area. Our thanks to Max for giving his
valuable time to help juniors!
For any of you shooters who would
like to put this same type of class on for
juniors or new shooters, you do not
have to be a GM in order to teach or
instruct gun handling and gun safety.
Most of our 'C' class shooters are more
proficient with firearms than many
others who might charge $75 for the
same class.
New shooters need someone who is
patient, who has the desire to disciple
others with gun safety, the ability to
teach IPSC rules / competition and
have the time to spend training one on
one. Each one of us should have one
person that we like to spend time instructing
and practicing with now. If
not, you should find a friend who has
shown an interest in shooting and take
him/her out with you at your next
practice session!
Anyone who has this desire, please
contact me and I can help you coordinate
and organize your classes. Contact
me at juniors@ uspsa.org
