2002 is shaping up to be a great
competition year!
The USPSA 3-Gun Nationals have
just been completed and they were
great! With more than 200 competitors,
this was the largest USPSA 3-Gun
Nationals to date. We encountered
some new challenges and our staff has
come up with several suggestions to
deal with long gun safety, loading procedures,
etc. The BOD will be looking
at these suggestions to come up with
some guidelines to help all USPSA
clubs run safer and more efficient long
gun matches.

3-Gun Nationals. I was overwhelmed
at the response from our members.
This was originally planneei as a small
side match to gauge if there was interest.
The side match filled in a matter of
weeks of being announced!

and Pat "Mr. Make It Happen"
Winslow for their tireless efforts to
bring this match from concept to
championship.

one. Look for it on their new shooting
program. The coverage is targeted towards
showing what wins. They filmed
several top competitors shooting stages
with a camera attached to a pair of earmuffs.
This will show in real-time what
it looks like to shoot a winning run.
They also did quite a bit of audio taping
to allow the viewers an inside peek
at how courses are approached, what
strategies/strengths are needed, etc.
Preliminary airtime is in September; I
will try to keep you posted as dates are
solidified.
ESPN will also be covering the Factory
Nationals this July. We expect the
same type of enthusiasm and great film
work. This media coverage, along with
some great print coverage will once
again put USPSA into the public view.
Michael Bane has done a great job
helping to make the Factory Gun Nationals
a success. With his help several
writers will be attending the match,
and we plan to see coverage in many
different medias soon afterwards.
