EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE
I would like to take a moment
to bring to your attention the
professional and honorable service
that the Ask Mr. Foster, Quincy
Travel Center provided for this
year's Nationals. I had a small
problem with the rental car
agreement at St. Louis Airport.
I notified Jan Achelpohl, V.P., at
the Travel Center. Within just
a couple of weeks she agreed to
reimburse for the difference.
I was caught in the middle of
two w e companies who disputed
each other and the Travel Center
came to my rescue. I have used
this service for 3 years now and
will continue to recommend them

GOOD JOB GEORGIA!
Lots of "atta-boys"(and girls)
are due to Randy Carlton and his
temfic staff of ROs and stab
people at SRPSA. The Georgia
State match this year was probably
the best I've seen anywhere!
ThIw mault m m , two speed
courses, and a challenging ( but
not impractical) standards made
for a fun, diverse day-and-a-half
worth of shooting.
The prize table was loaded with
guns, cash and other goodies.

were awarded down 5 places
in each daas. At least one South
African shooter got into the A

NEW IDEA ON PRIZE
DISTRIBUTION

I have come to the conclusion that
many do not know what they are
griping about when match awards
are handed out.

always stated what the prize
distribution was going to be. If
you are not happy with the
matches award format then there
is no reason for you to enter the
match.
As Match Director and
President of Geneva Practical
Shooters I will lay out how we
award people at our monthly
matches. It could be expanded to
National Level Matches.

the level of participation in the
match. Generally a minimum of
four eligible competitors in any
given category are required before
an award is made. Typically the
top 25% of eligible competitors
within the category will receive
recognition. The one exception
to this is the High Woman award
which is based on high overall
score (not class) and needs a
minimum of 3 women to be
awarded.
The following entries for pistol
are used at GPS monthly matches:
Unlimited, Tactim, Revolver
(stock only) and High Woman.
The classes within each are M,
A, B, C, D, and Open. Open class
is used for new shooters only and
they are classi6ed after their first
three matches.
An example of how this works
is everyone who enters the match
is competing for Match Winner.

their classification (M thru Open)
in the category of entry culllimited,
Stock, Revolver or Woman). The
women also compete equally with
the men within their class and
category. So, for example, to
award a 1st place A class award
in the unlimited category I need
to have a minimum of 4 entries
that is 4 competitors entered or
25% in each category. Remember
7 entries will not get 2 awards,
only when multiples of 4 occur
(4, 8, 12, ect.) will you award a
place finish. If I have less than
4 competitors in a class and
category I will not give an award,
as it is my feeling that there is
not any true competition among
three entries, but don't forget they
are still eligible for the Match
Wier Award. In the past five
years of matches at our club this
has proven to be the fairest
possible award system for the
majority.
I hope the above information
will be beneficial to others within
our sport.
