Ms.Buehner received both her B.S. and M.H.S.A. from Universityof Detroit Mercy.Dr. Yuksel ErpardoClinical Associate ProfessorIn May, Dr. Yuksel Erpardo joined the full-time faculty asClinical Associate Professor in the Department of Oral andMaxillofacial Surgery. He has been with the University ofDetroit Mercy since November 2006. Dr. Erpardo earned hisD.D.S from University of Detroit Mercy and his Ph.D. inOral and Maxillofacial Surgery from University of Istanbul.Prof. Pamela GibesClinical Associate ProfessorProfessor Pamela Gibes was hired full-time as Clinical AssociateProfessor and Community Health Care Coordinator in theDepartment of Periodontology and Dental Hygiene in January.She has been with the School of Dentistry since August 1999as a part-time faculty member. She joined the staffin March, after working with a corporate consulting group,Ulliance Inc., and managing her private practice in BinghamHills, MI. She earned her B.A. from Adrian College inPsychology and Sociology, along with her M.S.W. from theUniversity of Michigan. She specializes in topics such as overcomingeating disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorders.Dr. Eric KrukonisAssociate ProfessorDr. Eric Krukonis joined the full-time faculty in July asAssociate Professor in the Department of Biomedical andDiagnostic Sciences. Prior to joining us, he served asa faculty member at the University of Michigan.Dr. Krukonis received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biologyand Microbiology from Tufts University.Ms. Anna Luster-MelvilleCommunications SpecialistMs. Anna Luster-Melville has been hired by the School ofDentistry as the Communications Specialist. She joined the staffin May, after working as a Public Health Analyst for the Centersfor Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA. Sheearned her M.A. from Michigan State University (MSU) inHealth and Risk Communication, her B.S. in Nutrition fromMSU, and is currently a Registered Dietitian.Dr. Stewart MarkofskyClinical Assistant ProfessorDr. Stewart Markofsky was recently hired full-time at therank of Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department ofRestorative Dentistry. Dr. Markofsky has been with theSchool of Dentistry since February, 2009 as a part-timefaculty member. Prior to joining the School of Dentistry, hepracticed dentistry in Lincoln Park, MI. Dr. Markofskyreceived his D.D.S. from University of Detroit Mercy.Mr. Bradd MelvilleDevelopment OfficerMr. Bradd Melville has been hired by the School of Dentistry asthe new Development Officer. He joined the staff in May, afterpreviously working at Michigan State University (MSU) as aCompliance Officer for the Athletic Department. He earnedhis B.A. from MSU in Business Administration/Pre-Law andhis J.D. from the MSU College of Law.Fourth ACE AwardRecognizesMs. Lasandra RossMs. LasandraRoss, Patient CareCoordinator atUniversity HealthCenter (UHC) isthe fourthindividual toreceive the SchoolMs. Lasandra Rossof Dentistry ACEAward for 2012. The ACE Awardrecognizes a staff member who hasbeen providing exceptional service byconsistently going above and beyond.Lasandra listens to concerns, thenacts and responds quickly. No matterhow many students are waiting forher, she greets each one with a smileand kind word. Lasandra is oftenseen staying late, working after hourswhile continually maintaining apositive attitude.
