Dr. Linda WebermanDr. Linda WebermanClinical Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essorDr. Linda Weberman joined the full-time faculty inJanuary as Clinical Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essor in the Department<strong>of</strong> Patient Management. Prior to joining us, she practicedgeneral dentistry and served as part-time faculty atseveral local community colleges. Dr. Weberman receivedher D.D.S. from <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Detroit</strong> <strong>Mercy</strong>.Restorative Clinical Case:Traumatic FracturePerformed by Andrew Nguyen (’13)A 21-year-old female patient presented to UHC emergency clinic with the chiefcomplaint <strong>of</strong> “I want to fix my front teeth.” The patient states that she wasinvolved in a traumatic accident two weeks ago, resulting in a fracture <strong>of</strong> #8 and#9. At the initial appointment, it was found that the fracture for #8 was onlythrough dentin, while the fracture for #9 involved the pulpal tissues. To helpalleviate the pain, a gross pulpal debridement was completed.To repair her anterior teeth, she had a Class IV composite planned for #8 and anRCT followed by a composite core on #9. A pin was also placed on #9 to aidwith retention <strong>of</strong> the core. Over the next few appointments, these procedureswere completed. The end result is that #8 and #9 were built up with composite,thus repairing her front teeth and restoring her smile.Mr. Art Foster is leading the wayto a “greener clean” for <strong>UDM</strong>SD<strong>UDM</strong>SDGoes Green!Under the direction <strong>of</strong> Art Foster,Custodial Manager for the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong><strong>Dentistry</strong>, the Corktown Campus istaking strides to go green.
