This is a rendering of the plans for the newly remodeled Brecksville Town Center.
The Snider Company, property manager
of the Brecksville Shopping Center,
announced that the Brecksville Shopping
Center will be renamed Brecksville Town
Center in conjunction with a $1.6 million
renovation. Construction will begin
mid-June with a completion date slated
for early fall.
“The Brecksville Shopping Center has
been an integral part of our community
for decades,” Mayor Jerry Hruby said.
“This major renovation project will enhance
not only the services of the facility,
but will add to the charm and character
of our historic downtown. This is a major
commitment by the ownership to their
merchants, shoppers and our commu-
nity. We are certainly appreciative and
acknowledge their dedication to improving
our already successful downtown and
shopping experience.”
The renovation plans include increased
parking, innovative architectural elements,
improved lighting and signage
and an improved traffic flow plan.
Built by William Snider and William
Seminsky, Brecksville Shopping Center
opened in 1962 and was the first shopping
The 3-year-olds had their party at 10 a.m., and the 4-year-olds had theirs at 1 p.m.
A total of 72 students enjoyed the day’s festivities. The perfect sunny day was made even
better when an ice cream truck visited. Lead teacher Charlene Nebozuk and assistant
their safety and convenience to aesthetic
appeal and ambiance. Changing the
name to Brecksville Town Center reflects
the new look and the feeling we want to
convey to the public. We are committed
to this community and our clientele,”
Denise Blank, the center manager, said.
“The center will remain open throughout
the renovation. We hope our loyal
customers will ‘pardon our dust’ and
continue shopping at their favorite stores
during this time.”
Honors Two Members
for Years of Service
At a recent meeting, the Kiwanis Club
of Brecksville presented Robert Andree
and Dr. Dasarathi “Das” Ram with Legion
of Honor awards.
Andree received an award for his
45 years of service in Kiwanis. Andree
first became a member of the Rocky
River Kiwanis Club and has been in the
Brecksville club for the past 38 years. He
is a past club president, a past Division
24 lieutenant governor (1976-77) and a
past Ohio District governor (1993-94).
Ram has been a member of the Brecksville
club for 30 years. Even though he
worked as a radiologist, he still found
time to give back to his community
through Kiwanis. Ram is a past club
president and has put in hundreds of
hours of service in the club’s Horse Show
fundraiser.
Also noted at this meeting was that
of the 54 members in the club, there
are six other members who have 25 or
more years of service in Kiwanis. These
six members, along with Ram and
Andree, have given a total of 302 years
of service to their community through
Kiwanis. ∞
