Home days booths Offer bugs, Suckers, More

Brecksville’s annual Home Days connects
local people for a chance to see what
is new with area organizations and to visit
with friends and neighbors. The following
groups work hard to offer services to
Brecksville’s residents. They invite you to
come to their booths for food, games, history,
bugs, resources and information.
brecksville Center For The Arts instructors
will be painting chairs and offering
baskets for a raffle. They will serve
Sloppy Joes and strawberry shortcake, and
have crafts for children.
The bicentennial booth will have
plenty of Bicentennial merchandise for
sale, including shirts, caps, playing cards
and a Christmas ornament. The Historian
Committee will conduct a scavenger hunt
to find historic buildings and artifacts,
with T-shirt prizes.
The Historical Association and Family
Genealogy will share a booth and hand
out ribbons to 35 original-pioneer families
who have descendants still living in the
area. They will sell a Cat’s Meow unique
wooden keepsake with the bicentennial
mark on the back and the book, Images of
America: Brecksville. Children (and adults
who still like to stay within the lines) will
get a Bicentennial coloring book.
Kiwanis members will talk about “All
Things Kiwanis,” Santa Delivery, the
Easter Egg Hunt and the ramp project for
senior citizens. They will give out candy
and children’s admission tickets to the
64th annual Horse Show on Aug. 7.
United Methodist Women will be
baking and barbecuing. They will sell
homemade cherry pie and cobbler, pulled
barbecue beef and Texas sheet cake.
The Chamber of Commerce will feature
children’s games and collect old cell
phones for recycling.
Chippewa Garden Club will sell
bird feeders and garden gloves. The
club encourages civic beautification and
welcomes new members, and current
members enjoy talking to people about
gardening.

71 years of theater and the upcoming
season by raffling off tickets for plays each
day. It will also offer face painting and
