The PSI composite weights wereextracted from the SAS software, version 4.1, and are based on pooled SID numerators (i.e.,the relative frequency of the numerators of the component indicators). This approach is knownas “event weighting,” because it gives equal weight to each event, regardless of how manypatients were evaluated for the occurrence of that event.
