Persons who stopsmoking should review their alcohol use and consider limiting/abstaining fromalcohol during the quit process.• Other smokers in the household: Patients should consider quitting with others and/orstaying abstinent in a household where others still smoke.o Referral: Consider referring patients to a group clinic or intensive smokingcessation programme.o Provide self-help materials.6. Schedule follow-up contact:• Call or write patients within seven days after the quit date. A second follow-upcontact is recommended within the first month.
