put another coat of paint on and the dark spots of blood would stillcome through. After this, I took a shower and he made me go to the food store withhim to buy hair dye. He said my red hair stood out too much and hewanted me to dye it blonde. It changed my hair color to brown. He tookB’s car and was driving south on our way to Florida. We were gonna stopto get a room but then G realized “I can’t let you go in alone, because Ican’t trust you.” We went to get a room. We were going to use B’s creditcard, but the lady said we needed a driver’s license. So we went back tothe car and then we just drove off. G started to drive faster and fasterand the cops started to follow us. Finally the police pulled over and Ijumped outa the car. It was over. When GG was interviewed in the county jail, he gave a very differentaccount of the events. He said that A was pregnant (which was untrue) andit was A’s idea to kill B. He said, “I did it because of her. A and B got intoan argument, a sexual argument. B was a lesbian and came on to A. A saidif I don’t do something about it, she would do something. A said she didn’twant her around. If she wasn’t around, we could stay in the condo. So I gota knife, went to B’s room, and stabbed her in the back and I hit her with abilly club. I stabbed her three more times so that she’d die.” When asked ifhe had any remorse, he said, “I feel bad. I feel stupid because I did somethinglike that for a girl. I deserve to be here. I’d rather be executed that do lifein prison.”Psychological test findings revealed a great deal about the psychodynamicsof this offender. His figure drawings are shown in Figure 3.3. The house, tree, and drawing of a member of the opposite sex are bland and empty, and reflectserious depression and inadequacy. The drawing of a male shows a person ofmassive strength, the opposite of how he truly feels about himself but probablyhow he would like others to see him.His TAT stories were filled with themes of inadequacy and deep depression, including the following. Card 1: “This boy is depressed. He feels he can’t doanything. He is useless. He has no friends.” Card 3BM: “This is a guy crying. Heshot himself. He was depressed. He killed himself because it’s the only way hecan deal with his grief. He shoots himself in the head.” Card 14: “This personis lonely. He is thinking of suicide. He doesn’t have a normal life. People keeprejecting him. He is not liked.” Card 18GF: “A woman strangling another woman. She wanted her money. He gets rid of the body. Puts it in the car, drives it offa cliff, and makes it look like an accident. The police thinks it’s an accident. Itbothers him, so he kills himself.”The following story (to Card 13MF) is most revealing of his inner thoughts:“This is a guy who had a prostitute and then killed her. Maybe somethinghappened in his past. Women used to reject him or treat him like dirt and teasehim. He figured he’d get back. He did it to a prostitute because they are easy toget away with. The police won’t try as hard with a prostitute. He hates woman.
