AA was a part-time attendant and was alone at the timeof the homicide. When the victim entered the gas station, she asked to borrowa dime for a telephone call. After AA gave her the dime and she made her phonecall, the victim pulled her dress up and invited AA to have sexual relations withher. For the next several days, he continued his usualactivities as if nothing had happened. He was summoned to appear at the policestation, still feeling that the homicide was a dream. However, when the detectiveasked whether he had killed a woman, he answered, “Yes, I did it.” “I realizedinside, I guess, that I would not get away with it. Inside of me I felt guilty. I feltbetter after I admitted doing it.”AA gave the following description of the homicide: “It was late in the eveningand the station was about to close. She took some of her clothes off and toldme not to be afraid. My mind was blank. She grabbed me by the wrist and pulledme to come towards her. I pulled my hand away but she kept saying, ‘come on,I won’t hurt you.’ She kissed my neck. She unbuttoned my pants. I turned around
