inside. I keep thinking about sex organs today for some reason. This isa male. A young boy age twelve. He is a wreck, so make him 14 yearsold. For some reason, I think of a female sex organ and these are somekind of legs. These look like some kind of legs of a heavy girl about 20,and she is large. Has very large legs, and this is the lower outside leg andsome kind of erection; or, this could be two lesbians having some kindof relationship. Is it called oral-anal? Maybe sixty-nine is going on. Thesetwo girls, one 20 and one 14; and this one has her mouth on her sexorgan. This is a woman’s womb up here. A clitoris and these are eggs. That’s a flame. A hot flame. Down here are the testes. A penis in thewomb. Those are supposed to be some kind of an erection. A vaginadown here. Looks like two rats here. A woman’s womb. Supposed to bean unsatisfied penis that’s not achieving climax. Looks a little limp. Thisis some kind of sex. The act of intercourse. Some kind of climax orsatisfactory climax. The woman is in her period, so they can’t be too old.Not over forty-two. No. She wouldn’t let himhave sex.” “This is a house of prostitution. He has a great desire to have sex, but,at the same time, he has an element of discipline.” “Surgeries being performedon a young man. He is having some evil cut out of him.”The following TAT story (Card 13MF), given after BB’s release from prison(8 years after the murder), provides additional insight into the dynamics ofthe homicide:A young man who is lamenting the fact that he killed his girlfriend orhad sex with his girlfriend. He went to prison for seven years. The killingwas a mistake. He should not have had guilt about having closeness withher. He was emotionally dependent upon her. When she tried to breakup, it resulted in her death. His emotional dependency drove her away. There was a reluctance to have a closeness to someone else. Now he wantsan emotional closeness, but he remains autonomous.Projective figure drawings displayed in Figure 6.1 reflect not only inadequacy(the tiny house, tree, and human sketches) but also sexual preoccupation, as theoffender was sure to incorporate genitalia. This is a typical case of a chronic catathymic homicide occurring withinthe framework of an ego-threatening relationship. BB was experiencing aclinical depression, but it was the catathymic motivational process — not thedepression — that resulted in the murder. The incubation phase was markedby suicidal ideas which finally culminated in a strong homicidal idea that
