Peter Lawson Dell was a civil
engineer who worked for the
military, largely abroad, before
joining Courtaulds� He was
appointed Managing Director of
Saiccor on 1 April 1982, but only
took control of the company a year
later when Oakley Tainton retired�
Peter was a gentleman to the core,
with a somewhat military bearing,
who won the respect of everyone
he dealt with� He was transferred
back to Courtaulds in January 1986�
