Paper production
Depending on the type of paper being
manufactured, a mixture of short fibres
(mainly own pulp) and long fibres (external
pulp) is applied on both paper machines.
Using two filters, water is extracted from this
mixture of pulp fibres, fillers and water. It is
subsequently conveyed over the press
section towards the dryer where it is then
dried to a moisture level of 5 % on steamheated
cylinders.
Paper machine PM1 produces uncoated
fine paper, while paper machine PM2
produces socalled coating base paper
which is transported to the coating machine.
On the 100metre long coating machine,
the base paper‘s plane arrangement of
fibres, with its uneven surface structure, is
covered with an even coating of pigment
layer.
Each side undergoes a twostep process,
passing through the paper coating unit and
drying devices to obtain a smooth, uniform
surface.
Converting
Paper rolls are stored in the reel interim
stock. Using dedicated equipment, the
paper webs are cut into sheets according to
customer requirements using cross cutters.
The paper sheets are then stacked on
pallets or cut into customised rolls,
packaged and finally dispatched.
