Six days shaltthou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is thesabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work,thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thymaidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thygates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, thesea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day:wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."(Exodus 20:8-11 KJV)Ask any Christian what day of the week Jesus arose on andthey will tell you that it was the first day, which is Sunday. IfSunday is the first day of the week, then Saturday is theseventh day of the week. It is very clear to see from the fourthcommandment quoted above that Saturday is the day that GodHimself has set aside as His Holy Day for us to spend specialtime with Him each week. Some people believe that Saturdayworship was only given to the Jews and that the rest of theworld should worship God on Sunday. The following textsheds light on this point. "Speak unto the children of Israel, andsay unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which yeshall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are myfeasts. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is thesabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no worktherein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings."(Lev 23:2-3 KJV)9
Note that God says that the feasts listed in Leviticus chapter 23 are Hisfeasts. Nowhere does the Bible say that these Holy Days were only forthe Jews. In fact, God reaffirms that the seventh day (Saturday) is “theSabbath of the LORD”. That makes Saturday the LORD’s day and notSunday as most Christians believe. If Saturday is the Lord’s Day, thenwho made the change to Sunday being the Lord’s Day and why? Daniel7:25 gives us a hint. "And he shall speak great words against the mostHigh, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think tochange times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a timeand times and the dividing of time." (Dan 7:25 KJV)This verse predicted that somebody was going to “think to changetimes and laws”. The word translated times comes from a Chaldeanword meaning seasons. Remember when Satan (Lucifer) had rebelledin heaven (see Isaiah 14:12-13 and Ezekiel 28:12-19) he had said hewould be like the Most High and would set his throne above God’sthrone. Some of God’s Holy Days, as we shall soon see, are tied to theyearly seasons and thus this passage in Daniel is predicting that all ofGod’s Holy Days would come under attack by Satan. Satan, workingthrough somebody would attempt to change God’s laws and the timingof God’s Holy Days.We will let the organization who carried out this attack on God’s HolyDays speak for herself. “The new law has its own spirit…and its ownfeasts which have taken the place of those appointed in the law of Moses. Ifwe would know the days to be observed…we must go to the CatholicChurch, not to the Mosaic law.” (The Catholic Catechism as quoted in theSigns of the Times, November 4, 1919)“As the sign of the authority of the Catholic Church, papist writers cite"the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allowof; . . . because by keeping Sunday, they acknowledge the church's power toordain feasts, and to command them under sin."--Henry Tuberville, AnAbridgment of the Christian Doctrine, page 58.”10
