In Mat<strong>the</strong>w 5:18 Jesus said, “For verily I say unto you,Till heaven <strong>and</strong> earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wisepass from <strong>the</strong> law, till all be fulfilled.” Since Passover is not yetfulfilled we should still be observing it, as Jesus did, with <strong>the</strong> footwashing <strong>and</strong> Communion meal.Jesus called Communion by <strong>the</strong> name of Passover, <strong>and</strong> observedit at a home on Passover evening. He said in Luke 22:19, “this doin remembrance of me.” It is noteworthy that Passover is calledby <strong>the</strong> name of Communion or Mass, is not celebrated in a home,but celebrated at all times of <strong>the</strong> year except on Passover itself. Ifit were not for Easter, most of Christianity would not have a clueas to <strong>the</strong> time of year when Passover occurs. Remember that <strong>the</strong>Catholic Church changed <strong>the</strong> name, time, <strong>and</strong> place of celebratingGod’s Festivals <strong>and</strong> most of Christianity has followed along.The Bible records that Jesus also kept <strong>the</strong> Sabbath. "And hecame to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: <strong>and</strong>, as hiscustom was, he went into <strong>the</strong> synagogue on <strong>the</strong> sabbath day,<strong>and</strong> stood up for to read." (Luke 4:16 KJV) Jesus, beingJewish, would have recognized that <strong>the</strong> Sabbath day was <strong>the</strong>seventh day of <strong>the</strong> week—<strong>the</strong> day that we call Saturday. IfJesus is our example in all things <strong>and</strong> He kept <strong>the</strong> Sabbath onSaturday, <strong>the</strong>n do you not think that we should do <strong>the</strong> same?Remember that He is Lord of <strong>the</strong> Sabbath (Saturday)."Therefore <strong>the</strong> Son of man is Lord also of <strong>the</strong> sabbath."(Mark 2:28 KJV)The Bible also records that Jesus observed <strong>the</strong> Feast ofTabernacles in John chapter seven. However, note that Jesusnever sacrificed a lamb because He knew that when He died on<strong>the</strong> cross <strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong> sacrificial system, which was <strong>the</strong> sacrificingof a lamb when someone sinned <strong>and</strong> which God comm<strong>and</strong>ed28
