23of two months, and decide, in consultation with <strong>the</strong> Director General of Armed ForcesMedical Services, where necessary, whe<strong>the</strong>r a prima facie justification <strong>for</strong> bringing <strong>the</strong>claimant be<strong>for</strong>e a Review Medical Board, exists or not. If it is decided to bring <strong>the</strong>claimant be<strong>for</strong>e a Review Medical Board, <strong>the</strong> Director General Armed Forces MedicalServices shall make necessary arrangements <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> same.(c) On receipt of <strong>the</strong> Review Medical Board proceedings as per sub-clause (b)above Directorate shall <strong>for</strong>ward Review Medical Board proceedings to <strong>the</strong> PrincipalController of Defence Accounts (Pensions) within 3 months <strong>for</strong> increase/decrease/discontinues in disability element, if any or sanction disability element in addition to<strong>pension</strong> already notified if, <strong>the</strong> disability has been accepted as attributable to oraggravated by military service and <strong>the</strong> disability is 20 percent or more as assessed byReview Medical Board.ORDINARY FAMILY PENSION SPECIAL FAMILY PENSION, LIBERALISEDFAMILY PENSION AND DEPENDANT PENSION WHEN DEATH OCCURREDIN SERVICE34. (a) Officer who die while in service, <strong>the</strong> Integrated Headquarters Ministry ofDefence (Army), Adjutant General’s Branch (MP-5&6) Medical Personnel RecordService (Officers)/ Territorial Army Directorate of Integrated Head Quarters of Ministryof Defence (Army) in <strong>the</strong> case of service officer, Director General Armed Forces MedicalService, in <strong>the</strong> case of Army Medical Corps, Army Dental Corps and Military NursingService and Territorial Army Directorate in <strong>the</strong> case of Territorial Army shall publish <strong>the</strong>casualty report and <strong>for</strong>ward a copy <strong>the</strong>reof to <strong>the</strong>-(i) next of kin of <strong>the</strong> deceased Officer, along with <strong>the</strong> blank application<strong>for</strong>m <strong>for</strong> family <strong>pension</strong> (MPB-501) <strong>for</strong> completion and submition to <strong>the</strong>Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions) under intimation toabove mentioned Directorate as <strong>the</strong> case may be.(ii) <strong>the</strong> Controller of Defence Accounts (Officers), asking him to send <strong>the</strong>Last Pay certificate and No Demand Certificate in respect of <strong>the</strong>deceased Officer, direct to <strong>the</strong> Principal Controller of Defence Accounts(Pensions).(iii) <strong>the</strong> Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions) along with –(1)<strong>the</strong> nomination made by <strong>the</strong> deceased <strong>for</strong> death gratuity.(2)in case of death due to injury/accident-I. Injury report (IAFZ-2006), if any,II. Finding of <strong>the</strong> Court of Inquiry, if any, with <strong>the</strong> opinion of <strong>the</strong>competent authorityIII. Death Certificate (AFMSF 93 Part I)IV. Certificate of attributability in case of death due to injury as perAnnexure II to Appendix VI to <strong>the</strong>se Regulations.(3) in case of death due to disease- AFMSF-81Pension Regulations <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Army, Part II (2008)
