Campus
the worldwide Campus network is the central feature
of the Berlinale talent Campus website – our online community
and international network.
The Berlinale Talent Campus website is not only a great source of information about
the current edition, the next application deadline and ongoing programme elements like the
Berlin Today Award – but it is also continuously updated with news on Campus events around
the globe. A central element is the worldwide Campus network. It gives an overview of all
Talents attending the 8th Campus. Computer stations in HAU 1 and 2 give direct access to this
network, where you can browse profiles that include samples of work and filmographies, as
well as the opportunity to contact a Talent directly. The perfect way to “find the right people“!
The Berlinale Talent Campus community includes profiles of all former Campus
participants, including those of the Campus Abroad initiatives. These young filmmakers
represent the diverse cinematic perspectives of more than 125 countries. The Campus
community offers various networking tools to increase visibility of Talent projects; whereby
various opportunities for crew-building are easily accessible. For Talents this is a great way to
keep in touch and network, just connect and converse with one another on your online profiles.
The Campus Media Library is a growing pool of archived Campus events and consists
of telelectures, transcripts, and audio files, as well as the Campus Short Film programmes. A
growing list of names such as Janusz Kamiński, Frances McDormand, Tom Tykwer, Walter Salles,
Shah Rukh Khan and Wim Wenders are included in the video lectures, which cover Campus
events, and are a great way to get information on contemporary topics, themes, discussions, or
movements within the industry. The virtual services at the Campus website offer a wide range
of media content for filmmakers and reflect the diversity of the Campus.
Stay updated all year round with the Campus newsletter. Featuring not only news from
Berlin, it also reports on all Campus ventures around the world, including the Campus Abroad
initiatives and recent alumni projects. The latest news letter can be read online or register to
receive it per email on the Berlinale Talent Campus homepage.
Take the Berlinale Talent Campus wherever you go, on your cell phone! This year sees
the launch of the official website designed to be accessed on your cell phone. Features include
the complete programme, all participant profiles as well as details on this year’s experts. Of
course you can browse former Campus editions too and find information about Campus
locations and the team. The place for all your daily Campus needs!

Four international editions of the Campus, modelled along
the lines of the archetype, have taken off abroad:
in guadalajara, Buenos aires, durban and sarajevo.
2nd talent Campus guadalajara (march 11-15, 2010)

“If there is something that characterises Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean,
it’s the enormous asymmetry that we live in. Cinema is inside this context, and it cannot escape
or disconnect from it. We are young cinema industries, often almost nonexistent, that fight to
have a place on the map. At the Guadalajara International Film Festival, we assume this reality
as part of ourselves because we can't – and also don't want – to elude being part of the
construction of a better scenario where our stories can be told. The Talent Campus is a useful
tool that allows us to build bridges between professionals and new filmmakers who are the
owners and users of the future.“
5th talent Campus Buenos aires (april 10-13, 2010)

“The spirit of Berlinale Talent Campus inspires all the Campus’ Abroad. Our character
gathers young filmmakers to benefit from the academic atmosphere and the common native
language, uniting them in a single world in Buenos Aires. Each edition of the Talent Campus
reflects common concerns, such as the city, politics and, of course, the arts in this creative
context. In this unique climate, we pride ourselves when we discover how our Talents profit
from networking while developing a platform for their own projects. This year we double the
bet; motivating them to join the new Campus Studio, a place to document their own talent
experience. The result is an intense and rich debate around the fact of sharing a continent,
South America.“
3rd talent Campus durban (July 23-27, 2010)

“The Talent Campus Durban is a highly valued networking and skills training
opportunity, bringing together 40 young filmmakers from around 20 different countries in
Africa. The first two editions have successfully managed to establish meaningful exchange
between African filmmaking talents, facilitating inspiration and opportunities for participants.
What is most gratifying is to hear positive feedback reports about Talents working together
afterwards – and the Durban International Film Festival has already received film submissions
from some of them, affirming the contribution this project makes in identifying and
empowering a new generation of filmmakers in Africa.“
