Developing film projects: script consultants give their inputs
and inspirational insights on Talent screenplays.
We seldom take into account the early work put into a script,
the collaborative exchange between the writer and script advisor that
develops a first draft into an effective working document that can be
pitched, filmed and ultimately presented on the silver screen. The
Script Station brings together Talent scriptwriters and leading script
consultants from across the globe for in-depth development and
enhancement of Talent projects.
An intensive project development day, followed by personal
coaching and feedback sessions with Script Station mentors Gyula
Gazdag, Louise Gough (SOurceS 2), Alby james, marten rabarts,
Franz rodenkirchen and Selina ukwuoma will take participants a
great distance in finalising their scripts. A hands-on training of the
Berlinale Talent campus in cooperation with the German Federal Film
Board (FFA), the Script Station provides vital assistance at this critical
juncture in the filmmaking process.

The Script Station owes its existing form and content to the
strong support of its partners: Script House, an established script
agency in Germany; the project devel op ment day 2010 is planned by
mentors and jury members Alby james and Franz rodenkirchen; and
SOurceS 2, the european Script Writers’ Training programme lends its
support by way of experts from its teaching staff. Above all, the Script
Station has been made possible by the support of the German Federal
Film Board (FFA).

A hands-on training to assist up-and-coming
documentarians: the doc Station.

real life drama between representation and presentation
undergoes intensive scrutiny at the Doc Station.
A slice of life, factual works of art are under examination at the
doc Station, a practical workshop that supports young film practioners
by broadening the quality, range and ambition of their projects and by
enhancing their creative skills.
Twelve documentary film projects were selected
in early December to be part of Doc Station 2010:

This hands-on training, made possible
thanks to the support of the Ger -
man Federal Film Board (FFA), assists
up-and-coming documentarians at a
point when they begin feeling the
pressures and challenges of structuring
their treat ments. They will spend the campus week reworking their
treatments on the expert advice and input of doc-industry mentors
kathrin Brinkmann, dick Fontaine, jakob kirstein Høgel, ulla Simonen,
Fleur knopperts, david Wingate (SOurceS 2), Heino deckert and
merle kröger. An in-depth project development day will be followed
by mentoring sessions that run parallel over the week. On Feb 17 on
the panel of “reality Bites”, Talents of the doc Station will present their
treatments, in different stages of development, for the very first time
and receive critical feedback from the audience and head of zdF/ArTe
Theme evenings, Hans-robert eisenhauer.
Over the years, the doc Station has been supported by way of
mentoring and through the designing of the project development
day by zdF/ArTe, one of the most important German television
departments for the production and co-production of international
documentaries. SOurceS 2, the european Script Writers’ Training
programme, lends its support by way of experts from its teaching staff.
