DV & DR SERIES1300°F Floor Standing Batch Tempering & Annealing Ovens (Gas or Electric)APPLICATIONSThe DV and DR Series Floor StandingRecirculating Heat Treating Ovens featurehigh volume air recirculation for high temperatureuniformity, a stainless steel interiorand plenum chamber, and a precision digitalcontrol system. They are designed for heavyduty production heat treating applicationssuch as tempering, annealing and solutionheat treating, although they find many otheruses. They are rated to 1300°F (700°C).1400°F (760°C) is optional. Horizontal doors(DV Series) or vertical doors (DR Series) areavailable. They are available in electric or gasfired versions.FEATURESRECIRCULATION FOR GRADIENTUNIFORMITY OF +/-10°F (+/-5.5°C)A heavy duty, high volume, high velocity, aircooled alloy fan is mounted in the top with afull recirculation duct (plenum chamber). Theduct features adjustable vents to control therecirculation pattern of the air. A minimum of40 volume changes per minute of the entireinterior is achieved. The fan is dynamicallybalanced and engineered for long life at hightemperatures. The fan is manufactured byIndustrial Gas Engineering and is very reliable.HEAVY GAUGE STAINLESS STEEL INTERIORThe entire interior is made of stainless steelfor heat and corrosion resistance. Thebottom is 10 gauge while the liners andbaffles are 18 gauge. They are designed toexpand and contract with the heat. Eachpiece of the liner is anchored in one place andthen allowed to expand without restriction. This unique construction differentiates thisoven from the typical construction found inlower temperature cabinet and walk in ovens.HEAVY DUTY CASE CONSTRUCTIONThe oven case is constructed of reinforced 10gauge steel with an integrated floor standwith leveling bolts and mounting holes.SEVEN INCHES OF INSULATION1” of 2300°F (1260°C) ceramic fiber insulationis backed up with 6” of mineral woolsandwiched between the interior andexterior of the oven. The bottom insulationis non-compressible firebrick and calciumsilicate.HORIZONTAL OR VERTICAL DOORSThe DV Series doors are deep plug horizontaldoors. The models that are 36” wide (orwider for custom sizes) feature two doorsthat meet in the middle. The horizontalPage 20doors feature woven fiber tadpoleseals. Pneumatic and electricvertical doors are also available(DR Series). The DR Seriesfeature a front vestibule ofreinforced castable refractoryand ceramic fiber lined doorswhich seal against this rigidvestibule. The DR Series can besupplied with rollers that travelon the vertical doors to matchroller hearths inside the oven.Special hydraulic forklift loadersare also available forloading heavy loads.(See pages 3, 9 & 13).INCOLOYELEMENTS FORELECTRIC OVENSElectric ovens featureelements located inthe recirculatingplenum chamberaway fromthe work zone. These areincoloy sheathedelementswhich are ratedfor 1600°F.ECLIPSETHERMJETBURNER FORGAS OVENSThe gas fired ovensfeature an Eclipse gasburner with a highturn-down ratioof 50:1. The gassystem includes aproportional motorcontrol which adjustsboth gas and air to maintainstoichio-metric firing (proper ratioof gas to air), a gas regulator, lubricatedgas cock, combustion air pressure switch,high/low gas pressure switch, pilot solenoid, pilot regulator, two main shut off solenoids,UV flame safety, air purge system (4 volumechanges) and integrated combustion blower. The system meets NFPA and FM standards. The gas burner fires into the plenumchamber, avoiding flame impingement on theload. These may be specified for natural gasor propane.DIGITAL PID CONTROL AND HIGH LIMITThe standard control is a Honeywell UDC2300 digital control. All fuses, transformers, contactors and controls are located in aAbove is a DR 3648 with a vertical door and rollerhearth system You can see the recirculation muffleinside with adjustable air louvers. These allow youto adjust the pattern of high velocity air inside theoven to achieve maximum temperature uniformity.NEMA 1 panel. Quiet, long life mercurypower contactors are standard on electricovens (SCRs are optional). The thermocouplesare inconel sheathed type K. Thecontrol voltage is transformed to 120 volts. AUDC2300 digital high limit back up controlwith manual reset, back up contactors andseparate thermocouple is included.www.hotfurnace.com
