“When I saw the Honda Accord, I just had to have it.”Vijiarajan is a busy man, but he still finds time to reach out and help those in need.ALL HONDA ACCORDS are tempting, which explains why a 50-year-old lawyerfrom Kuala Lumpur found himself in hotsoup for getting behind the wheel of acar that wasn’t his.Following a quick stop at a bank inTaman Desa, G. Vijiarajan immediatelyentered the nearest gold-colouredHonda Accord. He was shocked to discoveran old lady sitting in the rear seat.“Both of us panicked. She startedhitting me with her umbrella, and I hadn’tthe faintest clue what was going on. Bythe time I got out, a crowd had alreadygathered around us.“The woman started screamingthat I had attempted to steal the car. Itried explaining, but to no avail. Herson then walked over. He didn’t lookpleased, either. If not for my carparked nearby, I think all this wouldhave been history, especially when thearea has been plagued with severalrobberies and snatch thefts of late,”Vijiarajan said.Vijiarajan escaped without harm, thenwrote a letter to With DREAMS magazineabout his experience. Now you guys are asking me.That’s something different,” he quipped.Hailing from Sungai Ara in Penang,Vijiarajan first pursued his studies inTheology and then had the opportunityto travel.“My research took me to China,Turkey, India and the US, where I learntto mind my own business and live my life.It was a fulfilling job but it didn’t pay well,”he said. While travelling he engaged in socialwork, something he started doing in hisearly youth. One thing led to another andbefore Vijiarajan knew it, his girlfriend atthe time persuadedhim to pursue adegree in Law.NAMEMr. G.VijiarajanjAGE 50HOMEKuala LumpurOCCUPATION LawyerCAR OWNED 7th Generation Honda AccordIt’s been more than 10 years sinceVijiarajan was called to the Bar as anadvocate and solicitor, and he now runshis own successful legal firm and lectureson company law at the Help InternationalCollege of Technology, Klang, while doingsocial work in his spare time.Currently holding a Master’s Degree inLaw (LLM), Vijiarajan continues to pursuelegal studies and is currently writing adoctorate thesis on company law.“After I complete my PhD, I plan tocontinue lecturing as it will equip mewith additional skills and knowledge inmy legal practice.
