Wetland and Vegetation Assessmentareas where these thickets are still in tack, practically all other vegetation is smothered, resulting ina non-existent herbaceous layer.Dominant and prominent woody species include Chromolaena odorata, Lantana camara, Meliaazedarach, Pluchea dioscoridis, Ricinus communis and Solanum mauritianum. Grass species arerestricted to the periphery of thickets and include Chloris pycnothrix, Cynodon dactylon,Dactyloctenium aegyptium, Eleusine coracana, Imperata cylindrica and Panicum maximum.
