These final repairs need to be done to finish the project to restore thefarmhouse to a sound condition.Project 2: Odd Fellows Hall Conservation RestrictionApplicant: Community Preservation CommitteeAmount: Asking $50,000 Voted $50,000Summary: The Hall is a historically significant structure in <strong>Orleans</strong>. Use ofthe building dates back for 110 years when it served as the <strong>Town</strong>’s schoolhouse.Funds from an October CPA grant will be used to replace the unstable oldfieldstone foundation with poured concrete and to complete all associatedstructural repairs. These additional funds will be used to purchase a conservationrestriction on 1.84 acres of the property. The Odd Fellows will apply the funds tobuilding restoration projects which will further the preservation of the historicstructure.Project 3: Skateboard Park CreationApplicant: Nauset Together We Can Prevention CouncilAmount: Asking $65,936 Voted $65,936Summary: The Finch Skateboard Park on Eldredge Park Way has servedhundreds of skaters since its inception as a recreational activity in 1997. ThePark was constructed with private funds on its current site in 1999 with woodenramps. These ramps have deteriorated to the point where they are a safetyhazard and all structures need to be removed. These funds will be used to createa new facility by purchasing and installing modular concrete ramps that will betterwithstand the elements of the weather and remain usable for many years. Thisgrant is subject to the <strong>Town</strong> procuring long-term access to the land through leaseor in fee from the Nauset Regional School District and to agreement on a policyof access to the Park by the general public.Project 4: Meeting House Needs Assessment & Master PlanApplicant: <strong>Orleans</strong> Historical SocietyAmount: Asking $25,000 Voted $25,000Summary: The Meeting House Museum is the center of the historicpreservation activities of the <strong>Orleans</strong> Historical Society.
