Throwing things like eggs and flour can cause damage and upset. It
can also be classed as criminal damage, or even assault, so your ‘bit of
fun’ could end up with you in trouble with the police.
Chief Inspector Adam Streets said: “We don’t want to spoil
anyone’s fun at Halloween but we are asking trick or treaters to
be considerate and think of others, especially the elderly.
“We hope that by offering this advice we can reduce the number
of people who are subjected to incidents of anti-social behaviour
and prevent those that are intent on causing trouble from doing
so.”
On the KHS Website under ‘Notices’ is the printable two sided
poster (see below) for Halloween that has been produced by
Leicestershire Police. Show the red side if you don't welcome ‘trick or
treaters’ calling at your house or show the green side if you welcome
‘trick and treaters’ calling.
These are just some pointers to bear in mind in order to have a safe
and fun time.
Hope you all have a great Halloween.
