Does your village have some connection to the Civil War, WW1 or
the Industrial Revolution?
Perhaps you know someone who lived through WW2 in the area, and
they could share a few memories with us. How has your area
changed over the years?
Do you know where your village name comes from?
You could even tell us about your school years or send us a copy of
an old photograph
The school History club are currently working on a project to find
out about the history of the local area. With Michael Wood’s
‘Story of England’ featuring Kibworth and Smeeton Westerby as
inspiration, we are trying to gather as much information about the
local area as possible. From Market Harborough to Wistow, Billsdon
to Oadby.
If you have any historical information about the local area, we
would be really appreciative if you could share it with us. You don’t
have to write a huge amount, even a few sentences will be great!
The information that we collect will be used by the History Club,
and some of it will be used for a wall display about local history.
Information regarding the History Club will be issued via the
Student Bulletin after half term.
