YEAR 8 Squad:- Kieran Ashman, Joe Boddy, Jed Acton, Ollie Foster-Pollard, Alex Rose, Tom Fielding (Capt), Will Blackburn, Ben Knight, Ben Di Salvo, Cieran Hill, Josh King, Ben Parkinson, Matt Donahey Played 5 Won 4 Scored 26 Conceded 3 The Year 8 squad did not have the start to the season they wanted in the 1st round of the County Cup away at English Martyrs (Leicester). Leading comfortably 2-0 at half time the boys pressed the self destruct button and lost 3-2. However, since then they are unbeaten , beating South Wigston 5-0 and Gartree 6-0 in the South Leicester League and then 2 National Cup matches—Harris School from Rugby 7-0 and John Henry Newman from Birmingham 5-1. After half term they face both Thomas Estley and Welland Park in the South Leicester League and wait to see who their next opponents are in the National Cup. YEAR 9 Squad :- Ben Perkins, Dan Bray, James Bonser, Scott Haines, Tom Rawlins, Jack Tebbutt-Smith, James Milsom, Matt Brown (Capt), Jack Langton, Oscar Trier, Elliott Coe, Ivan Tapper, Ben Fisher, Jack Starkie, James Mason This has been a very encouraging start for a team who has been too inconsistent over Year 7 & 8. Played 4 Won 3 Lost 1 Scored 14 Conceded 5 Three wins on the bounce, one South Leicester league game Gartree 5-1, one County Cup De Lisle 6-0 and one National Cup Bishop Stapford (Kettering) 2-1 made Mr Mulholland and Mr Edwards very pleased, not just because they won but because of the good football and hard work they produced. On Monday 15th October the boys lost at home 3-1 to Nicholas Chamberlaine from Bedworth in the National Cup. Unfortunately it was the teams worst display of the season so far but they lost to the better team who are 2 years in a row Warwickshire County Champions. After half term they face Thomas Estley at home and Welland Park away in the South Leicester league and Roundhill (Thurmaston) away in the second round of the County Cup. Page 26
South Leicester League Kibworth have had yet another great start to the Netball season. Our south Leicester fixtures have all been successful. These include South Wigston, Bushloe (Y9’s yet to play), Gartree and Lutterworth. Having won all of our league games in all three years I have high hopes for future matches and competitions. Following half term we have Welland park and Thomas Estley still to play. Central venue League The Y8 and Y9 Netball teams have entered the central venue county league this year and have both progressed to the county finals. Both year groups were undefeated in all league round matches and have it to their finals. Page 27
