Occasionally, pupils are given the option to have a non uniform day. In return, pupils are asked to donate a small fee
(usually £1.00), the proceeds of which go to fund raising efforts in which the school is currently involved. Children may like
to use their pocket money for this.
We do, however, insist that clothing should not be provocative and, therefore, appropriate for school, even if this means
going against current fashions - no short skirts/mini skirts or “short” shorts (eg hotpants or similar) and no revealing
cropped tops. Knee length or below knee length shorts are acceptable. Fancy dress is not allowed. Equally, clothing
should not display inappropriate or provocative or political slogans. Pupils should at all times dress with decency and
modesty; the Headteacher will have the final say in this matter.
Normal school policy on these days applies regarding jewellery, make-up/face paint and extreme hairstyles or dyed hair -
ie they are not allowed.
