Schoolsmay temporarily allow previously enrolled students to attend pending receipt of the necessary proof. (Thetetanus-diphtheria booster shot, Td, will not meet the requirement.)HealthA child will be admitted unconditionally to school without these immunizations if the parent or guardian files a letterwith the school stating that immunizations are contrary to his/her belief. However, the child will be sent home duringany outbreak of any of the diseases listed above.Health and Safety Code 3385If no usual source of medical care exists, the parent/guardian shall be referred to the county health department. Thedistrict will cooperate with the local health department in school-based immunization programs. These will requirewritten consent of parents.Education Code 49403Release of Immunization InformationThe District may, without prior consent, release student immunization information to the local health department.Immunization information shall be treated as confidential by all parties and may be used only to provide immunizationservice, to provide or facilitate third-party payer payments for immunizations, or to compile and disseminate statisticalinformation on immunization status on groups of people, without identifying the student. Notification is sent in advance of the screening to theparent who may choose not to have the student participate.59
