The TNC has been designedspecifically for audio applications by DNMdesign and is being manufactured in the UKby BHC.In a normal capacitor unwanted resistanceand inductance force the input and outputtogether electrically, making its unwantedcharacteristics very critical for performance- figure 1.The new T-Network capacitor (TNC) behavesdifferently because the input must flow alongthe capacitor plate to reach the output.The signal is forced into pure capacitancewith most of the unwanted resistance andinductance appearing on each side of thebulk capacitance. The residual defects,therefore, tend to assist capacitance filteringin the T-Network design - figure 2.The TNC is designed for the most demandingfiltering situations and it will redefineperformance standards in many non-audioapplications. For use in audio amplifiers, theTNC incorporates current slit foil technologyto produce the ultimate audio capacitor.These capacitors give excellent resultsagainst standard components on a directreplacement.
