IntroductionThis framework has been developed to provide a set of best practice guidelines for allied healthprofessionals, educators, managers and executives to establish or enhance systems of governancefor allied health education and training within LHDs and Specialty Networks.A guideline as defined by the NSW Health Policy Distribution System is any document thatestablishes best practice for NSW Health agencies (NSW Department of Health, 2009).This document has been developed following a review of existing accreditation, policy frameworksand current evidence to support the development of allied health capabilities in the delivery ofperson-centred care through the creation of learning organisations and promotion of a culture oflifelong learning.
