CONSULAR FEE<br />

The following consular fee tariffs must<br />

be applied when issuing visas of the<br />

Republic of <strong>Lithuania</strong>, as established by<br />

October 27, 2004 Resolution No 1347<br />

of the Government of the Republic of<br />

<strong>Lithuania</strong> amending paragraph 3 of the<br />

Resolution No 1135 of November 16,<br />

1994 of the Government of the Republic<br />

of <strong>Lithuania</strong> “Regarding the Approval<br />

of the Tariffs of Consular Fees of the<br />

Republic of <strong>Lithuania</strong> and the Procedure<br />

for the Payment and Refund of Consular<br />

Fees of the Republic of <strong>Lithuania</strong>”:<br />

Visas are issued in diplomatic missions<br />

and consular posts of the Republic of<br />

<strong>Lithuania</strong>. A single-entry short-stay visa<br />

valid for up to 15 days and a single-entry<br />

transit visa valid for up to five days may<br />

be issued at a border control post.<br />

CREDIT CARDS<br />

All convertible currencies can be exchanged<br />

at banks and currency exchange<br />

offices. The latter can be found in major<br />

hotels, airports, some supermarkets,<br />

train and bus stations. Most transactions<br />

are made in cash. Most establishments<br />

accept major credit cards including<br />

Globus, Euro Card, MasterCard, Visa<br />

and Visa Electron and (less widely),<br />

American Express. <strong>Travel</strong>lers’ cheques<br />

are rarely accepted by retailers and can<br />

only be changed in banks and currency<br />

exchange offices (valiutos keitykla).<br />

ATMs are common in large cities.<br />

MEDICAL<br />

No vaccination or health certificates are<br />

required. Health insurance is advisable.<br />

Medicine is widely available in every<br />

town in <strong>Lithuania</strong>.<br />

companies offer pre-paid SIM card services.<br />
