For parents of children aged:under 19<strong>Parents</strong> togetherWhat is this programme?Parentline Plus’ <strong>Parents</strong> Together programme offers parents support with their ownissues as well as teaching evidence based parenting skills through flexible topicbased parenting groups or individual parenting coaching sessions. Group titlesinclude: Getting on with your child/teenager, Less shouting more co-operation,Dealing with anger, Bringing up confident children, Helping children learn, Copingwith teenage issues, Families dealing with racism/homophobia, <strong>Support</strong>ing childrenthrough change and loss, Ages and Stages, Time to talk about sex/drugs andUnderstanding children’s behaviour.Where are the programmes delivered?The programme of free parenting groups is delivered at schools and communityvenues in North, South and Central Bristol.Individual parenting coaching is currently available at The Park in Knowle West andSt Werburgh’s Primary <strong>School</strong>.Content of the programme:Contents of the group or individual sessions include:• Parent’s own needs• What children and young people need• Understanding their behaviour• Ways to support our children• How to set boundaries and time to think about what boundaries are right <strong>for</strong>our family• Child and adolescent growth and development• Dealing with anger• Listening skills and assertiveness skills• Teenage issues• Self esteem and confidence <strong>for</strong> parents and young peopleSession DetailsGroups can be one off workshops or longer facilitated groups, each session last <strong>for</strong> 2hours.
